Newton Peripherals launch the MoGo Media Mouse X54TM Family
Acclaimed Bluetooth mouse now features centre scroll functionality and superior tracking ability
London - July 26 2007 - Newton Peripherals, the manufacturer of the acclaimed MoGo MouseT, today announced two enhanced versions of the award-winning mouse, specifically designed to work with ExpressCard/54-equipped laptop computers.
The MoGo Media Mouse X54T and X54 PROT are a Bluetooth-enabled wireless mouse family designed for mobile computer users whose laptops are equipped with an ExpressCard/54 slot, including those manufactured by Toshiba, Dell, Fujitsu, HP and Gateway. It's slim and stylish frame folds flat, stores and recharges in the ExpressCard/54 slot. This feature is a major advantage over other wireless mice, which require frequent change of batteries. It also means that transporting your mouse around is no longer the hassle it once was. The MoGo X54T and X54 PROT require no additional storage space leaving your bag free to carry round the things you need.
The mouse has a kickstand that enables it to be transformed from a flat metallic card to a portable mouse. There are also two indented finger pads on the MoGo Mouse which provide a similar feel to traditional desktop mice making it quick and easy to adapt to.
The X54T is designed with the consumer user in mind; for those who use their laptops to listen to music, watch movies and surf the internet. The mouse supports multi mode operation; by altering the settings on the mouse the user can switch between mouse mode and multi media mode. The multi media mode enables the user to change the volume and switch between tracks or movie scenes.
The X54 PROT is more suited to the professional market; those who primarily use their laptop for business purposes. The device supports both a mouse mode and a presenting mode; designed specifically for users who frequently give presentations. The X54 PROT presenting mode allows you to move up and down between slides and there is a laser pointer feature so you can illustrate key points on the slide.
Other key features include:
- Built-in centre scrolling capability through an integrated scroll pad
- Even more user-intuitive feel, with deeper finger depressions for more natural operation
- State-of-the-art laser engine delivers absolute precision and control
- "Auto-on" functionality when the mouse is removed from the laptop's ExpressCard/54 slot
- No software drivers required
In addition, the MoGo Media Mouse X54T and X54 PROT also incorporates the latest in Bluetooth technology, enabling millions of laptop users to go wireless without requiring the use of adapters.
"We have monitored the adoption rate of the Express Card throughout the computer industry, and noted that consumers are buying Express Card-equipped laptops in increasingly significant numbers," said Matt Westover, Newton Peripherals' President and Chief Executive Officer. "We saw huge potential to take a leadership role for portable mice in this market, so have moved into this area to take advantage of the opportunity."
Pricing information Priced at approximately £54.99 the MoGo Media Mouse X54T and X54 PROT will be available at selected leading UK retail outlets from August 2007.
